At the Boardwalk

We went to the Boardwalk downtown a couple days ago so the kids could see the fish tank at Bass Pro Shops. James liked them from this safe distance, but he did not want to be near the glass. I can see now that we are ready for the zoo or a big aquarium this summer.

We got them these matching hats, James has worn his every day since.

Afterwards, we had some back yard time.

Friends

They were both standing on the coffee table watching the garbage truck through the front window.

Ellie loves this bicycle, and she also loves James' shopping cart.
(No, my son is not always naked, we had just eaten chili dogs for dinner, so naturally, he was stripped down to the diaper for it. )

Daddy's Boots

James found Daddy's boots in the closet a couple days ago and insisted I help him put them on. He couldn't even walk in them because they are so heavy, and they ride up so high on him. I think in the second picture he is actually sitting on the boots, not standing in them.

This is Ellie. She is James' cousin that is 5 weeks older than him. Ellie & her parents have been staying with us for a couple of weeks now while their newborn twins are in the NICU at LSUS hospital here in Shreveport. These two have really enjoyed each other's company and have played so well all week.

Enjoying the Great Weather

James spent most of the day both Sunday & Monday in the back yard. The neighbor kids came over and played for a while too, and I think he really enjoyed that. But of course, now it is back down in the 40's again!

We had actually just gotten home from Mimi & Poppy's house, where he had taken these hot wheels from. He did not put them down all day. And yes, he did wear the rain boots all day too, even when we went to the bank!

He has also started adding the word 'I' in front of everything. 'I Boots!' I More!' 'I Juice!' 'I Down!' 'I Bye Bye!' 'I Shoes!' If you look in the background, you will see the pumpkin ball that is flat. He put it on his head and said 'I Hat!'

The New Style!

I looked up from cooking dinner a couple nights ago, and this is what I saw. He calls it his hat!

WOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO! I have finally finished Misti & Cord's wedding invites! All 200 of them! I mailed them to them today, so I am officially done!!! You can check out pictures of them on My SU! Website.

Cooking Tip

When cooking a savory soup, such as split pea soup, make sure the ham bone you are using is NOT from a Honey Glazed Ham! Just doesn't taste quite right!!!

Happy Birthday Aunt Rachael

Today, or tomorrow, is Rachael's birthday! No, I did not forget, she is a Leap Year Baby, so she is actually only 6 years old, going on 25!

Sorry about the picture Rachael, I know that early morning shots are not the best. But, I really wanted to post one of you and James together! This has made me realize just how bad I am about remembering to take pictures when we travel!!! I have got to do better!
