Happy Easter!

James had a great first Easter. These are some of the highlights from our day. We were not able to get a family picture of all of us dressed up for church because JJ had to leave right after service to be at work by 10:30. :(

James checking out what the Easter Bunny brought him this morning.

James was explaining to Aunt Claire how an Easter Egg works.

He didn't really know what to think about the basket.

James had fun sitting in his basket of eggs (they were all empty of course).

Happy Easter from our family to yours!

James & Grammy

Grammy was in town visiting for the Easter Holiday this weekend. James had a great time with her. She was so happy because he started officially crawling for the first time and she got to see it! We're in trouble now!

Hawaii Here She Comes!

I am so excited for my Mom! She had recently applied for a Traveling Nurse position, and she found out today that she got the job! Her first assignment is in HAWAII!!!!!!!! Not only is it a raise from what she is making now, but they pay for her apartment, all her utilities, she gets a monthly allowance for a rental car, her medical insurance is FREE, 401K, etc, etc, etc!!! It starts May 6 and she will be there at least 13 weeks, but she can stay longer if she chooses! Congrats Mom! You definitely deserve this!

Spaghetti & Squash

James has started having an opinion about what we are feeding him. He has tried a few bites of table food here and there, but because he doesn't have any teeth yet, he is still on jar food. Well, the other night, we were trying something new. We had bought a few jars of the Stage 3 foods (they are chunky), and since I was cooking spaghetti for dinner, I thought he could try the spaghetti flavor. He wouldn't eat ANY of it!! So, about 30 minutes later when we sat down to eat, he was of course still hungry and wanted what I was eating. So, I put him back in his high chair, and he had a full meal of spaghetti and yellow squash! Again I remind you, he doesn't have ANY teeth yet, but he sure did love it! He has also started being a little independent. He won't eat unless he is holding the spoon too. He used to stay so clean when he would eat. I guess those days are over!

By the end of the meal, he was slurping noodles like a pro!

"See, I told you I didn't need any help Dad!"

Easily Entertained

James was being kind of fussy & clingy this morning for Daddy because he has a stuffy nose. JJ went to get in the shower, and James was immediately not happy. So, we followed him to the bathroom. I set James on the bathroom counter so he could play with the mirror. He soon found the sink full of his bath toys and made himself more comfortable.

You Have How Many Toys?

James found a new favorite toy. I was sitting in the living room assembling some of my new stamps, and I was using an empty box for the bits of trash & scrap. He immediately rolled over to the box and started playing with it. So, I got him his own box (without trash in it). He LOVED that box. He kicked and played and laughed until the back of it broke from his weight.

He even fell backwards a few times because he was kicking the side of the box so hard that he lost his balance. That didn't phase him though, he just kept on playing. (Sorry this is side ways. I had it rotated the right way, but when it uploaded, it came out wrong for some reason).

New Car!

We finally got a second car! It is a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. It's FULLY loaded with leather seats, 10 disk changer, sun roof, heated seats, V8 engine... you name it, it's got it. Of course, we didn't need all this stuff, but we went thru JJ's friend who is the finance manager at the Honda place here. He got us such a great deal on it, that we couldn't pass it up! Isn't it pretty!

(I am not sure if you can tell in the picture or not, but it was snowing when I took it).

Teething

I think it's safe to say that James will be cutting his first tooth soon. He had this entire rattle in his mouth just before I took the picture. He has been chewing EVERYTHING the last few days, and the amount of drool is unreal.

James was playing with the bag of kisses. He really likes the rustling of plastic.
