Feeling Better

On Monday, Cindy found out she had the flu. Tuesday morning, James went to the doctor because he had both the flu & an ear infection. Tuesday was also my first day back to work, so Daddy had to stay home with him. Then on Wednesday, I started to get a soar throat. James' fever broke early Wednesday morning, and he has been doing much better ever since. I had to miss work yesterday (only my second day!) because I was feeling worse. But today, we are all doing much better. I think I beat mine before it turned into the full blown flu.

James was napping so peacefully this morning, and he looked so cute the way he was cuddling his blanket.

James & M'Nina

I know I have been falling behind on getting pictures posted lately, we have just had a lot going on the past couple weeks. These are pictures of when M'Nina came to visit us a few weeks ago. For some reason, when Kaycee was learning to say 'Nana', it came out M'Nina. We are not sure how that is easier to say, but Mom really likes it, so that is her new name.

James had a lot of fun with M'Nina. One night, M'Nina & Mimi were both sitting on the couch with him. He was so excited that he had 2 grandmas to play with that he kept going back and forth between the two of them. It was so cute!

My New Job!

I had an interview this morning with a Mother's Day Out program at Broadmoor Baptist Church at 9 am. She told me that she wasn't sure if she an opening, and she would get back to me. She called me at 11:45 and asked me if I could start next Tuesday!!!!! I will be working for sure 2 days a week with MDO, and I will also be subbing for the preschool whenever they need me. They also allow teacher's children to attend the programs FREE of charge, so we will not have to worry about paying for child care! Only working a few days a week is probably going to be better than a full time job for me, because I will still be able to have SU! as my primary focus for income. Thank You Kristi for looking over my resume!

Tagged....

I have been tagged by Kristi Richards for a blogging challenge. The challenge is to list 5 material, and 5 non-material wishes. It has been difficult, but fun, and I think I have some good ones.
Material:

1. Job- I am currently looking for a job in a pre-school, day care, or MDO program so that I can finally begin my career as a teacher (which is a decision I made 1 1/2 years ago).

2. New Car-It doesn't actually have to be a new car, used will do just fine. But JJ & I have had only one car for over a year now, and we need a second car, especially with me starting back to work.

3. Buy a House- We would like to buy a home of our own by the end of the year.

4. Going Back to School- Our plan right now is for me to start back to school in August.

5. JJ's Bar/Restaurant- JJ has been working on a new concept for a bar/restaurant that he would like to open in 2009. He has the location picked out, and has been working very hard on the menu, wine lists, licensing, etc, so that he can get this underway ASAP.

Non-Material:

1. JJ & I want to not only be guided by God, but also be able to have the patience and ability to actually LISTEN to Him and do as He would have us do.

2. Raise James to be the best man that he can be, and have him be happy & healthy.

3. Wish for a safe & speedy recovery for Cindy's (JJ's step-mom) mother as she goes through rehab for her recently amputated leg. Cindy's mother is 78, so Cindy has been driving 2 hours to her mother's every week to take her turn helping her mother. Cindy would like to be able to come home for good. But, her mother is getting stronger every week!!

4. Better contact with family & friends. I have always been terrible about keeping in touch with people after we move.

5. Make new friends. I have always been a passive person when it comes to meeting new people. I am trying to be creative and 'step out of my box' so that I can meet people and make friends.

I am now passing on this challenge to all my friends! Take a few days to think about it, it's difficult to think about what you want MOST in life!

On the Hunt!

As you may already know, I became a demonstrator for Stampin' Up! last May. I have done a few events here and have had a very good response so far. It is not taking off as quickly as JJ & I need it to though, so I have started looking for a job, and will start looking more seriously after we get a second car (hopefully next week). Because I will be going back to school in August at LSUS for Elementary Education, I would love to find a job working with children, especially if it is at a place where James can go with me. JJ & I would like to ask that you keep us in your prayers during this time.  We are obviously doing ok since we are staying with JJ's parents still, but us buying a home of our own definitely depends on how quickly I find a job, and how good of a job it is, and also how quickly my SU business takes off. Oh yeah... and we would like that to be before James is like 5 years old!!!! Actually we would really like it to be before this summer, but we are trying to be patient and remember that we are with family, which is the whole reason we moved here to begin with!

James' Baptism

James' baptism was yesterday afternoon. It was such a great day. He was so beautiful (yes, he is still young enough to be beautiful) in his gown! White is definitely a good color on him. It was at noon and he had been awake since 8 am with no nap. He did SOOOO good though! He did not fuss until the very end when we were changing his clothes to go to lunch. We all went to lunch at Manguni's afterward and had such a good time. He got a lot of great gifts! Thank you all so much!

The whole bunch together!
