MOPS

Because I don't know that many people here yet, I have been trying to meet people and make friends in ways that in the past I would not have done. (I usually just met people thru work). I started a Meetup group for scrap booking in Shreveport on Meetup.com, and have already met two very nice ladies (one in person, one thru email). For Christmas, JJ's mom gave me a Mom's Devotional Bible. In the front of it was information on a group called MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers). About a week later, my friend Meg told me about her MOPS group in Austin. Having come across this twice in a week, I thought I would look into it. There were several groups here in Shreveport, so I chose the one that I had an idea of where it was. I went to my first meeting on Monday morning, and I had a great time! When you arrive, you drop your kids off in their group, and you get 2 hours without baby with other moms! They have guest speakers, arts & crafts, food, and adult conversation! Everybody was very welcoming and friendly and it was very easy to find things to talk about. I was really excited when I got home because I was kind of nervous about going. As I said, I don't usually do things like this by myself. They meet twice a month. I had so much fun, and can't wait to go again!

Look Mom No Hands!

James has learned to sit up by himself! He is still a little wobbly, so we make sure that one of us is sitting behind him, but I think it is safe to say that he is officially sitting up!

This turtle is one of his favorite toys. It seems to be the only one that he doesn't get bored with.
If you look closely, you can see a small Big Bird beenie baby between his legs. He LOVES Big Bird! He sticks both of the feet in his mouth and chews on them like they are BBQ chicken legs!

Bath Time!

James is really starting to enjoy his bath time. He can't sit up yet, so he is still using the infant tub. He will sit there and kick at his rubber duckies because he can't quite reach them.

Just out of the tub.

When his hair is wet, it is VERY curly.

Cheesin' for Daddy.

James gets very excited when he gets out of the tub and you are drying him off.

Snow!

We had SNOW today!!! It wasn't much, and it didn't stick, but we did have snow on and off throughout the day. Mostly we had rain & sleet though. When it first started this afternoon James was eating lunch. As soon as he finished I got him dressed to go outside and take a picture, but by that time it had already stopped. :(
Oh well, maybe we will get another chance later in the winter.

Look What I Can Do!

James has learned some new things that he is SO proud of! He is now pushing up on his hands and he can also stand very well when you hold him. Since he learned how, it can actually be difficult to keep him sitting still. He wants to stand up and show off!

I know this picture is kind of goofy, but it is the best picture I could get of him pushing up on his hands. He only does it for a second, so it's hard to get a picture.

James was actually standing without Daddy's help in this one. He was leaning on the play gym and was SOOO excited!

'Look what I can do Mom!'

James also loves to play upside down. He will push himself until he is hanging upside down, and when you try to move him he gets upset.

Trip to Kerrville

Sorry it has taken me so long to get pictures from our Kerrville trip on here. We went a couple of weeks ago for Christmas. Misti was of course taking pictures so I did not really bother too much. She gave me a picture CD, but I can't get it to open. I was really disapointed too because there were some great ones with James & my mom & Kaycee. I will try to get them emailed to me and get them posted later.

Aunt Moozer was attacking James with the frog puppet. He laughed & giggled so much. He was having a blast!

James & Hayden were playing together with Grandma. James is not usually the naked redneck baby of the family, but he was really hot and fussy. I think we are in the beginning stages of teething.

This is our newest edition to the family, Owen. I think he looks like his mom. He is so cute & so chunky! Hayden (20 months), James (6 months), & Owen(3 months) are all in the same size diapers right now!

Sorry this picture is sideways. I am not sure how to change that yet. One of the gifts my dad got from the grab-bag was a cd and a bunch of Christmas ties. As you can see, when my day gets any type of clothing at Christmas, he immediatly puts it on, no matter what it is!

B.O.B.

B.O.B. (Big Ole' Bear) was a Christmas gift from James'
Grammy Pat. She made this bear by hand, and he is HUGE!
James loves him! He likes how
soft he is and
I think he also likes that he can hold his balance and
sort of sit up by himself when he is sitting with B.O.B.
